EDO STATE GOVERNOR APPOINTS VIVIAN ELABOR TO HEAD TOURISM AGENCY

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Mrs. Vivian Elabor as the Director-General of the Edo State Tourism Agency, effective immediately. The announcement was made in a statement signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government.

Mrs. Elabor brings over 20 years of experience in media, community engagement, and public relations to her new role. Her impressive academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Mass Communication from London Metropolitan University, UK, along with diplomas in Theatre Arts and Healthcare Management.

Her extensive career includes notable roles in the UK, such as Head of Production and Presenter at BEN Television, London, where she produced programs showcasing African culture. Mrs. Elabor has also worked in housing management and rehabilitation services, supporting vulnerable populations at organizations like Change Grow Live (CGL) and Clear Springs-Ready Homes.

Additionally, she serves as a Board Member of the Centre for Wounded Servicemen and Fallen Heroes Support Fund, highlighting her commitment to humanitarian causes. Governor Okpebholo’s administration aims to leverage her expertise to boost Edo State’s tourism and creative economy, driving economic diversification, cultural renaissance, and youth empowerment.

This appointment aligns with Edo State’s efforts to promote tourism, previously highlighted by initiatives like the state’s tourism masterplan developed by Verraki, showcasing the state’s unique culture and history.
