Abuja – President Bola Tinubu is presiding over a closed‑door meeting with the heads of Nigeria’s security agencies at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Presidency sources say the session has been underway for several hours and is being held behind closed doors to allow frank discussion of the nation’s security challenges.
In attendance are the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the Director‑General of the State Security Service, and the Inspector‑General of Police. Also present are the Minister of Information and his counterpart from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
“The meeting has been underway for several hours,” a senior presidency source told reporters. “The President is using this opportunity to review the security situation across the country and to coordinate a unified response to recent threats.”
The closed‑door format is intended to give the President and his security chiefs the space to assess ongoing operations, exchange intelligence and decide on immediate measures to protect citizens. No further details were released, but officials indicated that a briefing would follow once the deliberations are concluded.
The meeting comes amid heightened concern over a spate of kidnappings and attacks in several states, prompting the federal government to intensify rescue efforts and security deployments. The President’s decision to convene the security leadership underscores his administration’s focus on restoring stability and safeguarding the nation’s people.
