TWO KANO STATE LAWMAKERS DIE WITHIN HOURS OF EACH OTHER

Kano State is shrouded in mourning after two serving members of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu (Ungoggo Constituency) and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji (Kano Municipal Constituency), passed away within hours of each other on Wednesday. Hon. Sa’adu died first, followed minutes later by Hon. Daneji, sending shockwaves through the state’s political circles.

The tragic news was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Spokesman to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, via a Facebook post, expressing condolences with “Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiun”. The causes of death haven’t been disclosed. Both lawmakers were active legislators, leaving colleagues and constituents in grief.

Tributes poured in, describing the development as a huge loss. Hon. Sa’adu reportedly attended a committee meeting earlier, fell ill, and was pronounced dead at a hospital. Hon. Daneji’s death followed shortly after.
