Abuja – The Presidency has denied claims circulating on social media that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu replaced Chief of Staff Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila with Principal Private Secretary Hakeem Muri-Okunola. “There is absolutely no truth to this story. We advise Nigerians to disregard it entirely,” said Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy).
Onanuga stated both officials remain in their roles. “The Chief of Staff remains in his position. The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff.” The claim was labeled a “fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news aiming to create disharmony”.
The Presidency urged media to verify information before publishing. The statement was issued December 25, 2025.
