Gusau – Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has appointed retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, as the new Commandant of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG). The appointment takes immediate effect, with Governor Lawal directing a comprehensive overhaul of the CPG to address operational and administrative challenges.
Dalijan, who served as Zamfara Police Commissioner (2023-2025) and AIG Counter-Terrorism (Abuja), brings over 30 years of experience in policing, security management, and community engagement. He holds degrees in Sociology (Usmanu Danfodiyo University, 1990), and Criminology (University of Abuja, MA 2007, PhD 2018).
“Governor Lawal expressed confidence that Dalijan, familiar with Zamfara’s security terrain, will reposition CPG to deliver on the administration’s rescue agenda,” said SSG Malam Abubakar Nakwada.
