Seven staff of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) were killed in a crash Monday in Gombe State. They were returning from a wedding in Yola, Adamawa, when their NUJ bus tyre burst around Kumo, Akko LGA, causing it to veer off and collide with other buses.
Victims include Manu Haruna Kwami (Admin Manager), Zarah Umar (News Manager), Isa (Editor), Musa Tabra (Retired News Manager), Judith (Gombe State UBEB Info Officer), driver Aminu, and Startimes’ Adams. Four survivors—Emmanuel Akila, Steven Doddo, Nina, Jonathan Bara—are hospitalized. Bodies are at a Gombe morgue.
