A Kano high court has affirmed the suspension of NNPP state chairman Hon. Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, restraining him from parading himself as chair pending court determination. The suspension followed allegations of denigrating Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, creating division, and unpaid party dues.
Justice Zuwaira Yusuf granted an exparte order on Friday, maintaining Dungurawa’s suspension pending hearing on January 19, 2026. “AN ORDER that the suspension… shall be maintained pending hearing,” she ruled.
Meanwhile, NNPP’s state executive council affirmed Hon. Abdullahi Zubairu Abiya as acting state chair, endorsed by the State Executive Committee. “Abiya’s appointment aligns with NNPP constitution,” said Barrister Yusuf Mukhtar, Assistant Legal Adviser.
