Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised three suicide bombers in a recent operation along the Guduf-Pulka axis in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The intelligence-driven operation involved covert efforts by troops collaborating with local volunteer forces, preventing planned attacks against civilians, according to Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force.

“Troops recovered suicide vests and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the neutralised bombers,” Uba said. Terrorist escorts suffered casualties, fleeing into the Mandara Mountains under pressure. Four AK-47 rifles were recovered, and two motorcycles destroyed.

Preliminary intelligence suggests the bombers were dispatched by Boko Haram’s Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad faction. Operation Hadin Kai is intensifying efforts to detect and neutralise threats, leveraging human intelligence and communication intercepts.

“Theatre Command remains committed to maintaining pressure on terrorist elements, ensuring safety and security of the region’s populace,” Uba stated.
