IMO’S ODINAKA OKORIE TARGETS GOLD AT 2ND NIGER DELTA GAMES

Benin-City – Imo State female boxer Odinaka Okorie has declared that her ultimate goal is to win the gold medal at the ongoing 2nd Niger Delta Games in Benin-City, Edo State. Okorie, competing in the 51 kg class, made her intention known after defeating her opponent from Edo State, Obaseki Esosa Favour, in the first bout by technical knockout. The Imo boxer dominated from the first round until the referee stopped the fight in the second round to protect her opponent from further punishment.

In a chat with sports writers shortly after the fight, she expressed her readiness to take all her opponents to the cleaners, stating, “I am very excited winning my fight. You know that the first fight in any tournament is always difficult but I give God all the glory for seeing me through.” She added, “With this victory, I am sounding a note of warning to all my opponents because my ultimate goal is to win gold and advance further in my career.”
