MAKARFI LGA ASSURES RESIDENTS AFTER SECURITY INCIDENT; TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED

MAKARFI, Kaduna State – Authorities in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have issued a statement following a security incident that occurred last night in Anguwan Sada/Wali, Tudun Wada Ward. The incident, which has reportedly caused “fear and anxiety among residents,” is currently under investigation, with two suspected individuals already in custody.

Shuaibu Abdullahi, the Chief Press Secretary for Makarfi Local Government, conveyed the local government’s “deep concern and sadness” over the “unfortunate security incident.” He extended sympathy to the “families of the victims and all those affected by this tragic incident,” adding, “Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.”

Abdullahi confirmed that “All hands are currently on deck to address the incident and ensure that those involved are brought to justice.” He highlighted that “Encouraging progress has already been made, with two suspected individuals now in custody,” crediting this development to “the diligent efforts of our security agencies.” Authorities remain “hopeful that these efforts will soon secure the safe release of the victim from captivity.”

The statement also urged the public to “remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information or rumors, especially the videos and messages currently circulating on social media.” Abdullahi warned that “Such actions can create unnecessary panic and may hinder the ongoing efforts of our security agencies, and we already handling the situation diligently.” He called on everyone to “cooperate fully with the security authorities by providing useful information where necessary so that lasting solutions can be implemented to safeguard our community.”

Emphasizing the non-political nature of insecurity, Abdullahi stated, “It is important to emphasize that insecurity is not a political issue but a national challenge that threatens the peace and stability of our society.” He appealed for “restraint and responsibility in our comments, opinions, and narratives surrounding security matters” and urged “media practitioners and social media influencers to verify information.”

The statement concluded with a prayer, “that Allah (SWT) restores the peace and security our communities have long enjoyed and that such unfortunate incidents will never occur again. May Allah protect our communities and guide us all toward unity, peace, and lasting security.”
