The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has conveyed its profound sorrow following the sudden passing of the wife of Abdulkadir Sarafadeen, Chairman of the NUJ National Assembly (NASS) Chapel.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the union described the loss as “painful and heartbreaking,” affecting not only Sarafadeen and his family but also the entire NUJ family within the Federal Capital Territory.
The council acknowledged the shocking nature of the news, emphasizing that while death is an “inevitable” part of life, it remains “always difficult to bear, particularly when it involves a loved one.”
The NUJ FCT Council extended its deepest condolences to Abdulkadir Sarafadeen, his family, friends, and colleagues at the NASS Chapel in the wake of this tragic event. The council offered prayers that “Almighty God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss” and also prayed “for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased.”
Furthermore, the statement assured the NASS Chapel Chairman of the council’s unwavering solidarity and support during this challenging period, urging him “to remain strong and take solace in the memories shared with his late wife.”
