The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has rescued five people abducted in two separate incidents in Akure South Local Government Area. The operation was carried out by the Rapid Response Squad, who recovered the victims after encountering the kidnappers.
According to Corps Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son were taken near Pelebe on Oda-Akure Road and were rescued around 1:00 a.m. Three health workers, abducted in a separate incident, were also freed around 4:30 a.m.
“The safety of lives and property is a top priority for the state government,” Adeleye said, urging the public to cooperate with security agencies.
The rescued individuals are receiving medical attention. The incidents have raised security concerns in Akure, with residents calling for increased efforts to combat crime.
