Dutse – The All Progressives Congress (APC) witnessed a significant boost in Jigawa State as 66,044 individuals defected from opposition parties to join the ruling party, in a grand ceremony attended by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda and Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State.
The event, held at a massive rally in Dutse, saw top APC national officials including Prof. Yilwatda alongside key state political leaders and executives warmly welcoming the decampees. The occasion underscored APC’s growing appeal and strategic expansions across Nigeria’s political landscape.
Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, APC National Chairman, expressed delight over the huge turnout. “This monumental show of support reflects the confidence Nigerians have in APC’s vision and leadership. We welcome these new members with open arms, looking forward to their contributions strengthening our party,” he said.
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State lauded the defectors for choosing APC, highlighting the party’s commitment to development. “Your decision affirms APC’s dedication to progress and service delivery. Together we’ll advance Jigawa and Nigeria’s prosperity,” Governor Namadi stated.
