Abuja – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO has unveiled plans to collaborate with Nigerian women implementing pivotal conventions geared towards promoting female gender empowerment. Francis Sokumba member UNESCO Creative City Network disclosed this at a meeting of Non-Governmental Organization New Dawn for Women and Community Intervention Initiative.
Mr. Sokumba consultant Arts & Crafts explained the objectives that women’s group align UNESCO’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development assuring UNESCO facilitate connections group in major global arts & crafts markets to boost visibility participation. “The objectives of the women’s group resonate strongly with UNESCO’s broader mission driving sustainable development through cultural empowerment,” Sokumba stated underscoring synergy partnership.
National Coordinator organization, Mrs. Sa’adatu Bakone affirmed Nigerian women are poised to make meaningful contributions to national development. “Through our various interventions—ranging skills empowerment programs widows’ support initiatives community development projects—we aim to touch lives, rekindle hope in places where it has nearly been lost,” Bakone said expressing optimism for collaborative impact.
Mrs. Bakone highlighted that the organization collaborates with government agencies and partners to achieve goals empowering rural women targeted interventions, education, community-based initiatives fostering socio-economic growth well-being. South-West Regional Coordinator Mrs. Ronke Akani emphasized partnerships with other NGOs sharing the objectives for pivotal success initiatives.
Mrs. Akani said organization partners, like-minded bodies ensure success of programs underscoring collective approach to driving women’s empowerment in Nigeria. Stakeholders view UNESCO’s engagement for Nigerian women strategic step, amplifying gender equality, sustainable development within the nation’s progress agenda.
