Nigerian streamer and entertainer Carter Efe defeated controversial singer Portable by unanimous decision to emerge as the new celebrity boxing champion at the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, May 1, 2026.
All three judges scored the three-round bout 30-27 in favour of Carter Efe, handing Portable his first defeat in celebrity boxing and ending his reign as the celebrity boxing king. The event was staged by Balmoral Group Promotions in conjunction with AK Promotions and streamed live worldwide on DAZN.
Carter Efe, who was making his boxing debut, took control from the opening round, relying on disciplined movement, sharp combinations, and sustained pressure to keep his opponent on the back foot. Portable, known for his high-energy persona and unpredictability, showed moments of aggression but was largely unable to penetrate Carter Efe’s tight defence throughout the contest.
“One punch and you fall,” Carter Efe had said ahead of the fight, dismissing Portable’s confidence. Portable had entered the ring promising to claim a third belt, saying, “I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now.”
In the opening round, Portable came out aggressively, throwing wild, erratic punches in his trademark style, but the taller Efe absorbed the pressure and countered with crisp uppercuts and body punches that troubled the singer’s smaller frame. The second round saw Efe land cleaner combinations as Portable struggled to connect with wide shots and clinched repeatedly. The third round followed a similar pattern, with Efe maintaining control until the final bell.
The victory earned Carter Efe a reported N50 million cash prize, courtesy of businessman Emeka Okonkwo, also known as E-Money. Reports also said Carter Efe received over N75 million in total and obtained a German visa following the win.
Portable had entered the fight unbeaten in celebrity boxing, having previously defeated actor Charles Okocha in December 2023 and singer Speed Darlington in April 2025 to claim two belts. After the loss, Portable claimed he was robbed and accused Carter Efe of colluding with organisers. “I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was struggling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches. Why didn’t you people count them? Any blow that I threw at him ought to count, even if it meets him on the shoulder or hand,” Portable said in a live video on Instagram.
He added, “They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad. Carter Efe was just holding my neck. I was punching him too but you people are not talking about that.” Despite the loss, Portable said he valued his newborn son more than a belt. “My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt but not my child,” he said.
The event drew significant attention across social media and was attended by high-profile celebrities, including musicians Timaya and D’banj. The main fight on the card was the WBO Peace Fight between Ezra Arenyeka and Godday Appah, aimed at promoting unity between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities.
With the win, Carter Efe now holds the unofficial title of Nigeria’s “Celebrity Boxing King.” Portable has called for a rematch, but organisers have yet to confirm if a follow-up bout is in the works for later in 2026.
