The Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon. Thompson Osagie, has completed multiple high-impact projects across the Local Government Area that are now set for commissioning, in what officials describe as a demonstration of responsive and result-driven leadership.
The completed projects include the construction of 10 lock-up stalls at Urhomehe in Urhonigbe North, a 3-block classroom facility at Eso Primary School in Idunwebo, and the reconstruction of the Secretariat Link Road in Abudu. Several other strategic interventions are also nearing completion.
At Urhomehe, the newly constructed 10 lock-up stalls were built to modern standards and complemented by essential infrastructure. The facility is expected to enhance commercial activities, provide safer business environments, and create structured opportunities for local traders to thrive. The Councillor representing Urhonigbe North and Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Enoma Evidence, commended the Chairman’s visionary leadership and prudent utilization of resources, emphasizing that the project reflects a governance style rooted in accountability and people-centered development. APC Women Leader in the community, Mrs. Tina Ehigiator, described the project as a source of pride and relief, noting that it will positively impact the livelihoods of many families.
Also in Urhomehe, the Town Hall Complex is near completion with only finishing touches remaining. Ward Secretary of Urhonigbe North, Hon. Jolly Odubu, lauded the Chairman’s foresight, emphasizing that the facility will provide a dignified and reliable venue for events, free from the uncertainties posed by weather conditions.
At Eso Primary School in Idunwebo, the newly completed 3-block classroom building addresses the challenge of overcrowded classrooms. Community leader and PTA member, Mr. Andrew Idiaghe, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting its importance to the future of the children. The Head of Department of Works, Engr. Edosa, affirmed that the construction meets required standards and commended the Chairman for ensuring quality execution and timely delivery.
In Ogan community, construction of additional 10 lock-up stalls at Ogan Market, alongside a modern sanitary facility, has reached an advanced stage. Upon completion, the project is expected to address space constraints, improve hygiene, and create a more organized trading environment, particularly benefiting market women.
In Igbanke, the 6-block classroom project at Central Primary School, which includes headmaster’s quarters, is nearing completion, with work estimated at about 95 to 98 percent. Remaining installations include electrical fittings and sanitation facilities. Engr. Edosa noted that the structure aligns with established standards and reflects the state government’s prototype for educational infrastructure, as directed by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In Abudu, the reconstruction of the Secretariat Link Road has been completed. The road was previously affected by erosion and flooding, which had hindered smooth administrative operations. Its completion now ensures improved access, enhanced safety, and greater efficiency within the council secretariat.
The Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Endurance Egharevba, praised the Chairman for his transparency, dedication to service, and commitment to delivering projects that directly impact the lives of the people. He further acknowledged the administration’s consistency in workers’ welfare, particularly the prompt payment of salaries, describing it as a hallmark of responsible leadership.
