GOMBE STATE MOURNS LOSS OF INTERNAL SECURITY COMMISSIONER

Gombe State has lost its Commissioner for Internal Security, retired Colonel Abdullahi Bello, in a tragic road accident.

Colonel Bello and his police orderly, Sergeant Adamu Husaini, died on Friday while returning from a meeting in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the incident as a painful loss, praising the late commissioner for his dedication to duty and commitment to strengthening peace and security in the state.

“The late commissioner was a disciplined, courageous, and dedicated officer who served Gombe State with distinction,” the governor said in a statement.

Governor Yahaya extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and the Balanga Local Government community, saying both men served the state and nation with loyalty.

The commissioner’s driver is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
