Abuja – The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has launched the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) Go-Live Project, marking a shift to digital efficiency in the ministry. “The era of physical file carrying is ending and the era of digital efficiency has begun,” Musa said.
He charged staff to embrace the new system, saying technology is the tool, but dedication is the driver. The launch aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” identifying digital transformation as critical to national growth.
Head of Civil Service, Esther Didi Walson-Jack, said the ECMS ensures efficient, accountable, and secure information management, essential for national security. “Decision-making will now be driven by timely access to information, rather than delayed by physical movement of files,” she added.
Galaxy Backbone’s MD/CEO, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, stated the ECMS centralizes content, enhances security, and empowers staff. Permanent Secretary Richard Pheelangwa said the launch transforms the ministry into a paperless environment, ensuring timely approvals and secure data.
Benefits include efficiency, cost-effectiveness, transparency, and accountability, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda. The ministry aims to meet the Federal Government’s December 31, 2025, deadline for digitalization.
