Information Minister Mohammed Idris has categorically denied interest in the 2027 Niger State governorship election, disavowing an unauthorized write-up “Malagi 2027” authored by aide Sa’idu Enagi. “The public is urged to disregard the write-up and speculation,” his office stated.

Idris stressed dedication to national duties: “I remain focused on the task at hand… and will not be distracted by premature electioneering activities, for which I have zero tolerance.” Enagi was suspended immediately pending investigation.

The statement highlighted Idris’ cordial relationship with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, prioritizing collaborative development. “Premature speculation about 2027 elections is unhelpful, could detract from ongoing efforts,” it added.
