The Federal Government has called for stronger collaboration and coordination among security and intelligence agencies to combat Nigeria’s evolving security challenges. Principal Superintendent of Press, Ituke Patience N, noted in a statement that Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa emphasized the need for a unified approach to intelligence gathering and operations.
Addressing security stakeholders at the Ministry of Defence, Musa commended personnel’s dedication and resilience, noting their efforts are often underrecognized. “We have been operating in silo for too long. It’s time to come together, harness our collective intelligence, and work as a unified team to support our troops and safeguard the nation,” he said.
Musa reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive for joint action across security institutions, stressing every agency’s critical role in national security. He highlighted the importance of public participation, urging Nigerians to provide timely information to authorities. “Asymmetric warfare requires intelligence-driven operations… the enemy is often hidden, making it imperative for us to strengthen our intelligence architecture and remain vigilant,” Musa added.
The meeting aimed to establish a coordinated intelligence framework, enhancing operational efficiency and national security. Would you like to know more about Nigeria’s security initiatives or Gen. Musa’s plans for collaboration?
