Dr. Susan Nnena Njoku, a renowned real estate developer, businesswoman, philanthropist and Financial Secretary of the Real Estate Developers Association Nigeria REDAN, led a team of investors and partners to Prince Arthur Eze’s palace alongside Dr. Bethany Hall-Long, the immediate past Governor of the state of Delaware, United States of America.
Prince Arthur Eze, a Nigerian billionaire, businessman and oil mogul, played host to Dr. Nnena Njoku and her partner Dr. Bethany Hall-Long. Dr. Hall-Long served as Delaware’s Lieutenant Governor beginning in 2017, became Governor on January 7, 2024 when Governor John Carney resigned to become Mayor of Wilmington, and previously served in the Delaware House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008 and in the Delaware Senate from 2008 to 2017. Dr. Nnena Njoku’s team also included businessmen, politicians and investors.
Dr. Nnena Njoku, who is also Managing Director of NOVENTIS USA/Africa and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kamsomarvy Limited, spoke after the meeting with press men. She said the meeting focused on rare earth minerals, mining and solid minerals, describing it as a shift towards a closer relationship with the United States of America and the state of Delaware.
Dr. Bethany Hall-Long stressed the need for deeper collaboration in areas of energy exploration, security, ICT, education and healthcare. “This would be my first international visit out of the United States and I chose to visit Nigeria. I am being hosted by Dr. Nnena and her partners here in Nigeria. I am glad to see that all we read about insecurity in Nigeria is not what it is here on ground and I would like to ask partners around the world to seek business opportunities in Africa,” she said.
Dr. Nnena Njoku encouraged the government to strengthen bilateral cooperation with businesses in Nigeria and the United States of America. On behalf of the team, Dr. Nnena Njoku and her husband, Dr. Everestus Njoku, with their partners, thanked the oil mogul Prince Arthur Eze for receiving them and for his willingness to do business with Noventis International.
In a separate engagement, Dr. Susan Nnena Njoku paid a visit to the internally displaced persons camp in Area One with Dr. Bethany Hall-Long. She was accompanied by her husband Dr. Everestus Njoku, Hon. Jeffrey Omoh Ozemegwa, Special Assistant on Inter-Governmental Affairs to the SSA to the President on Climate Technology and Operations in the Presidency, Mrs. Prof. Adam, the wife of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, businessmen, politicians and others.
Dr. Nnena Njoku said her visit was to celebrate with the people and share their pain. She encouraged them and shared foodstuffs and gifts with vulnerable children. She and Dr. Bethany Hall-Long then took a tour around the IDP camp to see firsthand the complaints raised by the people, including poor delivery for women, bad hygiene and the unconducive environment within the camp.
Dr. Bethany Hall-Long also addressed the people, consoled them and pledged support. She encouraged the government in the war against terrorism and asked for more action in the area of empowerment of women in the IDP camp.
Dr. Susan Nnena Njoku, who hosted her friends to the IDP camp, called for support from the general public to give to the less privileged ones at the camp. On behalf of the team, Dr. Nnena Njoku and her husband Dr. Everestus Njoku, Dr. Bethany Hall-Long, Hon. Jeffrey Omoh Ozemegwa, with their partners, thanked the leadership of the IDP camp and said they would visit again.
