Abuja – Former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has advised the Federal Government not to accept any plea for surrender from bandits operating across Nigeria. “While the bandits are pleading for surrender, we must not accept their plea until every one of them is neutralized and eliminated,” Babangida wrote on his official X handle.
He added that after eliminating the bandits, “negotiators and sympathizers like Sheikh Gumi and other subordinates” should be invited for comprehensive questioning by the military. The statement sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting IBB’s hardline stance, like Dr. Jay, who said “Exactly sir”, while others, like Phyno, cautioned about shifting public sentiments.
