The premises of All Saints Church swelled with applause as members turned out to honour Nigeria Union of Journalists, FCT Council chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, with an Outstanding Achievement Award for Humanitarian Service and Community Impact for 2026.
Receiving the award in absentia, Comrade Ike expressed deep gratitude to God and to the organisers for the recognition. In an interview, she described the honour as humbling and motivating.
“It’s not just an award, it’s an invitation to do more. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to serve, and I thank the church for finding me worthy of this recognition,” she said.
“I don’t take this lightly. It’s not just an award, it’s an invitation to do more for humanity and for the journalism profession,” Comrade Ike added.
The award further adds to the growing list of recognitions earned by Comrade Ike for her professional excellence and commitment to humanitarian causes. The physical plaque was received on her behalf by the council’s auditor, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
