An 80-bed hospital facilitated by former presidential spokesman Femi Adesina and commissioned on May 23, 2023 in Ipetumodu has remained shut more than three years after it was handed over to the Osun State Government.

During a visit on September 20, 2026, residents said the facility stands idle while the existing Ipetumodu General Hospital deteriorates with damaged roofing, wards without beds, and reliance on well water after its borehole failed.

Community sources said the old hospital has only one nurse and a doctor with limited attendance, forcing residents to travel to Ile-Ife for treatment. The state government had said the new facility required corrective work including roof repairs and connection to the national grid.

Efforts to get a fresh response from Commissioner for Health, Jola Akintola, were unsuccessful as of October 11.
