OSOGBO — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and political analyst, Akin Adeyi, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party on their victory in Saturday’s Osun State Governorship election.

In a press statement released on August 16, 2026, Adeyi advised the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to regard the renewed mandate as a challenge for continuous improvement on the positive impact he has made in the lives of the people of Osun.

“As he is rounding up his first term, he should have it in mind that the years ahead demand more commitment and quality developmental projects,” Adeyi stated.

He further urged the governor to see himself as a father to all, noting that inclusive leadership would help consolidate the gains of the administration.

Adeyi also called on his party, the APC, to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and to strengthen its role as a constructive opposition.

“As opposition, what is expected from us is constructive criticism, suggestions and advice that will put the state on a more solid path,” he said.

The APC chieftain specially commended and congratulated the runner-up, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, his party and supporters for putting up a good fight.

“Never mind the result. It took even the man you contested against a second attempt to make it. Bongos Ikwue, in one of his evergreen albums, sang: if you tried and failed… keep on trying,” the opposition chieftain noted.

Adeyi finally congratulated the entire good people of Osun State on the successful conduct of the election. He prayed for God’s repose of the souls of those who lost their lives along the road to yesterday’s victory.

The statement was signed by Akin Adeyi, who described himself as Ayeniromo Orunogbeke, Capone de Tutti, APC Chieftain and Political Analyst.
