PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES INTERFACE AFRICA ON NEXTGEN INNOVATION CHALLENGE WIN, PRAISES YOUTH INNOVATION

Abuja – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to Al’amin Muhammed Idris, Chief Executive Officer of Interface Africa, following the company’s triumph at the NextGen Innovation Challenge held in London. Interface Africa, representing Kaduna State, secured a remarkable £1.5 million cash award at the grand finale staged on Thursday at the Hilton London Paddington.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, issued a statement Friday expressing President Tinubu’s commendation for Interface Africa’s groundbreaking work in providing affordable solar financing solutions to small businesses across Africa. Bayo Onanuga noted President Tinubu believes the prize will significantly bolster Interface Africa’s mission to expand clean energy access in underserved communities. “The President strongly believes that the innovative potential of Nigerian youths is boundless; hence, his administration’s deliberate policies and programmes to harness and catalyse this vital resource,” Bayo Onanuga stated.

The NextGen Innovation Challenge, a collaborative effort between the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) and UKALD London, aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at unlocking Nigeria’s youthful innovative prowess. President Tinubu also applauded the 104 other participants, urging them to persist in driving innovation that enhances lives and shapes global progress. “President Tinubu also commends the other 104 participants and encourages them to keep innovating, improving lives, and shaping humanity’s future,” the statement read. Interface Africa’s achievement underscores President Tinubu’s confidence in Nigeria’s youth, spotlighting homegrown solutions addressing critical energy access challenges.
