Lafia – Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has terminated the appointment of Architect Ahmed Sarki Usman as Senior Special Assistant on Works, Housing, and Transport with immediate effect. The decision was communicated in an October 7, 2025 letter signed by Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (SAN).

Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji conveyed the dismissal citing a September 11, 2025 government circular prohibiting political appointees from openly supporting governorship aspirants before INEC lifts the ban on political activities ahead of 2027 elections. Usman, ex-Chairman of Doma Local Government Council, was accused of violating the directive through persistent association with a particular aspirant despite warnings.

The letter noted Usman’s actions breached the Electoral Act and undermined the governor’s office authority. “While appreciating your services to the government and people of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, the Governor wishes you success in your future endeavors,” the letter concluded, as stated by Dr. Magaji.

Architect Usman’s sack follows strict adherence by Governor Sule’s administration to pre-election conduct rules for appointees in Nasarawa State. The termination underscores governance stance on official neutrality amid political activities leading to 2027 polls.
