The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of actress Regina Daniels, saying he was detained for allegedly ignoring police invitations related to a petition filed against him.

According to the police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on November 6, 2025, and charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft. “Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu for questioning, which were not honoured,” Adeh said.

The police explained that Ojeogwu was arrested on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation. He has been remanded pending fulfillment of his bail conditions.

Regina Daniels had alleged that her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, orchestrated her brother’s arrest to coerce her into returning home and submitting to a rehabilitation program. However, Nwoko denied the allegations, blaming Regina’s behavior on substance abuse.

Regina Daniels has hinted at returning to her marriage if that’s the only way to secure her brother’s release. “I will go back,” she said, expressing distress over her family’s situation.

The police reiterated their commitment to professionalism and due process, stating, “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”
