Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has achieved a total sweep of all 21 local government areas in the Anambra State 2025 governorship election, as confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Collation resumed at 6 a.m. Sunday at the INEC headquarters in Awka after a temporary suspension on Saturday night, with the State Returning Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, overseeing the process.

The results from the final two LGAs, Anambra West and Ihiala, solidified Soludo’s lead. APGA garnered 23,557 votes in Ihiala LGA compared to APC’s 4,425 and Labour Party’s 135, while in Anambra West LGA, APGA secured 71,365 votes against APC’s 16,595, YPP’s 2,871, and ADC’s 152.

This victory demonstrates Soludo’s widespread support across urban and rural areas alike. “The people have spoken clearly through their votes,” Prof. Omoregie remarked during the collation. INEC’s final declaration is anticipated today, and with such a decisive win, Soludo is poised for a second term as Governor under APGA.
