Abuja – The Managing Editor of Arise News, Mr. Christian Ogodo, celebrated his birthday today amid a wave of tributes from friends, colleagues and well‑wishers, with larger festivities planned for the coming weekend. Born into a prominent Sapele family, Ogodo is the son of a celebrated Nigerian “super cop” who, in the 1980s, captured one of the nation’s most notorious criminals, Sunday Oyenusi. Among close circles he is affectionately known as “Godoskie”.
A heartfelt video tribute was shared by his mentee, Nicolas Adekeye, who lauded Ogodo’s rare qualities. “Happy Birthday to a true luminary—a World Intellectual, a Builder of dreams, a Great Guide, and a Quintessential Scholar and Tutor, all magnificently woven into one extraordinary person,” Adekeye said. He added, “You possess the rare gift of seeing potential where others see only raw material. In your hands, a ‘raw rock’ can be shaped, polished, and transformed into something of strength and purpose. Thank you for your selfless investment, your boundless patience, and your all‑loving guidance.”
Concluding his praise, Adekeye referred to Ogodo as “The quintessential GODOSKIE ITOTO, OGIDIGBO II OF AMU OGODO CLAN!!!” and wished him a birthday that mirrors the joy and inspiration he brings to others.
The weekend celebrations are expected to include a reflective episode that highlights Ogodo’s impact on the media landscape and his mentorship of young journalists. Friends and colleagues have expressed their anticipation for the events, noting that the occasion will serve both as a personal milestone and a recognition of Ogodo’s contributions to broadcasting and thought leadership in Nigeria.
