Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have made significant gains in the Timbuktu Triangle, disrupting terrorist networks and foiling Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) attacks. According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, troops successfully cleared and dominated key terrorist locations, including Tergejeri, Chiralia, and Ajigin/Abirma.

During the operations, troops neutralized several terrorists and discovered mass graves containing an estimated 20 terrorist bodies. However, some soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force lost their lives, and others were injured when a VBIED breached the defensive position.

“The security situation remains generally stable. Troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain high, and operations continue with sustained pressure on fleeing terrorist elements,” Uba said. The Nigerian Army Aviation helicopters and Airforce platforms provided support during the evacuation of casualties and security of ground forces.

Troops of OPHK remain committed to protecting civilians, dismantling terrorist networks, and restoring peace and security in the North East.
