Nollywood actress Dr. Foluke Daramola-Salako has officially joined the race for the House of Representatives, obtaining and submitting her All Progressives Congress nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I seat in the 2026 general elections.
The actress, dressed in a white lace boubou with gold floral embroidery, was photographed in an indoor hall in Abuja holding the two official APC documents: a green-blue “2026 Nomination Form” for the House of Representatives and a white-blue “Expression of Interest Form”. Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi and actress Folasade Eno were present to lend support.
A post documenting the moment said Foluke “picked up the nomination form in due time, submitted it, and has been successful with the screening exercise of her party”. TheCable also reported that she “has officially obtained the nomination paperwork to contest the Oshodi‑Isolo federal constituency 1 seat”.
The submission took place on May 2, 2026 at the Oshodi Party Secretariat, where she presented her manifesto before Party Chairman Hon. Saheed Animashaun and seven Ward Chairmen. She is described as the “sole female aspirant in the Oshodi‑Isolo Federal Constituency I race” and pledged “transformative grassroots development” and “inclusive, development‑focused representation in the 11th National Assembly”.
Dr. Daramola-Salako, founder of the NGO Para Africa Foundation, has been active in APC campaign stages and social work in the constituency. Speaking on The Morayo Show, she recounted losing her father at age three, starting acting at thirteen to support her family, and later earning a degree in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, where she served as director of socials for the Student Union Government. She said activism naturally led her to politics and emphasized gratitude for her husband’s support, adding that “impact matters more than wealth”.
Supporters in coordinated pink “FOLUKE 4 REPS” polo shirts and caps joined her during the nomination process. A campaign poster describes her as “Hon. Dr. Foluke Daramola Salako (J.P.)” with the slogan “The Gracious Inspiration 2.7” and tagline “Passion | Service | Impacts”.
The actress joins a growing list of Nigerian entertainers transitioning into politics ahead of the 2026 polls.
