The Macallan, the world-renowned single malt Scotch whisky, has officially unveiled award-winning singer, songwriter and cultural icon Adekunle Gold as its Brand Ambassador in Nigeria.
The announcement was made during the launch of The Macallan Timeless Collection held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at The Anthonia by Civic Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos. Guests from entertainment, business, culture and media gathered for the unveiling of the brand’s redesigned Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections, which also served as the public reveal of a partnership that had been quietly developing over the past year.
The relationship between The Macallan and Adekunle Gold began in April 2025 with an intimate Coco Money dinner party hosted at Kaly Restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos. It evolved in July through the brand’s integration into Adekunle Gold’s Coco Money music video and launch experience, and continued into his Fuji album release celebrations in October 2025.
Speaking on the partnership, Adekunle Gold said, “This partnership is rooted in shared values, craftsmanship, excellence, legacy, class and the beauty of taking time to create something meaningful. Everything I create, whether through music, culture or storytelling, is built with intention, and that is what makes this relationship with The Macallan feel both natural and deeply authentic.”
He added, “We both understand that timeless work is never rushed, and I am excited about what we will build together.”
The Macallan said the collaboration reflects shared values of craftsmanship, excellence, legacy and intentional creativity, and signals a new chapter in the brand’s cultural journey within Nigeria. The nationwide rollout of the Timeless Collection had earlier taken place across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Senior Brand Manager for West and Central Africa at Edrington, Hammed Adebiyi, said the partnership highlights a fusion of luxury spirits with Afrobeats’ growing global influence. The unveiling follows months of cultural collaborations between the whisky brand and the Afro-pop singer, including an exclusive friends’ dinner in Victoria Island attended by Falz and Ladipoe.
