OSOGBO, Osun State — The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, has assured residents that an administration led by the party’s flag bearer, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, will usher in a “reality government” built on the foundation of past APC administrations in the state.
Adereti gave the assurance while speaking as guest at the Osun NUJ Guest Platform, where he outlined the policy direction of an APC government if elected in the August 15 governorship election.
He said the incoming government will prioritize worker welfare and inclusivity, as well as the reintroduction and reintegration of a fresh workforce into the public service.
On agriculture, Adereti said the APC government will focus on provision, mechanization, training and funding to boost productivity and food security. He also listed robust healthcare, youth empowerment, technology training and empowerment, and sports development as key areas of focus.
According to him, the administration will pursue “non cosmetic governance” that delivers tangible results to the people.
Speaking on his nomination, Adereti said it was complimentary based on his track record and experience as a project management expert. He added that his Ife heritage is also an advantage that will complement the Governor Candidate, AMBO, who he described as a financial management professional with global experience.
He highlighted AMBO’s record in public service, citing his leadership roles with Lameco NNPC and the Osun State Investment Company Limited, OOSICOM, noting that AMBO built the OOSICOM Secretariat during his tenure as Chairman of the commission.
Adereti also assured that his pedigree would give the APC an advantage against the Accord Party Deputy Governorship Candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is also from Ife.
“Ife people describe him as ‘Kose’se’ meaning nothing is working while I, Adereti, am known as ‘Otise’se’ meaning it is now working,” he said.
The APC Deputy Governorship Candidate expressed confidence that the combination of his experience and AMBO’s expertise would deliver inclusive development across Osun State.
