Veteran Nollywood actress Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, has opened up about the severe hardships she faced during the early stages of her acting career. In an interview, she revealed that she once resorted to stealing food to survive and often worked on film sets without pay.
“Survival required extreme measures, with me and some colleagues occasionally stealing food just to eat,” Madam Saje said, describing a period of financial struggle and uncertainty before gaining recognition in the industry.
She highlighted an instance where she participated in a film production at a school location but received no compensation for her work, emphasizing the harsh realities faced by actors at the time.
