The Youth Quota in Parliament Advocacy Initiative has called on young Nigerians under the age of 35 to submit their profiles for consideration to contest State House of Assembly positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group said it has been engaging political parties across Nigeria to create opportunities and support pathways for young people aspiring to elective offices. Following these engagements, some political parties have expressed willingness to consider supporting and sponsoring qualified young aspirants for State House of Assembly positions.
In a statement, the initiative urged interested young Nigerians, including young women and persons with disabilities, who possess the competence, leadership capacity, political experience, and passion for public service, to apply.
Applicants are expected to provide their full name, state and constituency of interest, age, gender, phone number and email address, political and leadership experience, a short biography or profile, evidence of community engagement or public service, and their preferred political party if any.
“This initiative seeks to promote inclusive participation, strengthen youth representation in parliament, and encourage credible young leaders to actively participate in Nigeria’s democratic process,” the statement said.
The submission deadline is Friday 22nd, May 2026. All applications and enquiries should be sent to youthquotainparliament@gmail.com or via WhatsApp on +234 815 703 1718.
The call was signed by Ebere Juliet Ebenezer, Director Programs, Youth Quota in Parliament Advocacy, who can also be reached on +234 706 358 3059.
