The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Ayo Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has declared that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will reclaim Osun State in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Hon. Omidiran, who is also the National Woman Leader of SWAGA and a two-term legislator, FIFA pioneer and advocate for women, gender and good governance, made the declaration on Monday while receiving the Progressive Next Generation Initiative, PNGI, on a courtesy visit to her office.
The PNGI delegation was led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Climate Technology and Operations, Hon. Olamide Fagbuji, who is also a senior stakeholder of the initiative under the APC.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Omidiran said the Osun election is already won by the APC candidate.
“The Osun election is already won by our gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji,” she said.
She added that while the current governor is focused on social media, the APC has concentrated on grassroots mobilisation.
“While the current governor is busy with social media trends and like their job has been grassroot mobilisation,” she said.
Hon. Omidiran urged the people of Osun to remain steadfast and prepare for a change in government.
“She urged the people of Osun to be steadfast, and get ready for a change of leadership into the government house Bola Ige in Abere, Osogbo,” she stated.
The FCC Chairman also commended PNGI for its work in promoting the policies of President Bola Tinubu through data and advocacy.
She applauded the convener for activities of promoting the President policies through their data and advocacy.
Hon. Olamide Fagbuji, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, stressed the importance of deepening collaboration between government and political groups to drive development.

The Progressive Next Generation Initiative said the visit was part of its ongoing engagements with key stakeholders ahead of the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.
