CUSTOMS OFFICER FOUND DEAD IN KATSINA HOTEL ROOM

Katsina – Assistant Superintendent of Customs ASC Lawal Tukur was found dead in a hotel room in Katsina metropolis October 15 sparking investigation on circumstances surrounding the death.

Tukur reportedly checked into Murjani Hotel where hotel workers discovered his lifeless body around 8:30 a.m. alerting authorities immediately. Sources indicate empty sachets of unidentified substances were found in a wastebasket in the room suggesting possible substance involvement.

Three women Khadija Ali, 34, Aisha Lawal, 30, Hafsat Yusuf, 22, reportedly have been arrested in connection to the hotel incident. Khadija and Aisha spent the night with the officer while Hafsat joined them later staying at the hotel.

Body of the deceased officer have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre FMC Katsina where he was confirmed dead by medical doctors before being moved to the mortuary for autopsy. Nigeria Customs Service notified that investigations are ongoing to determine exact cause of death.

Zagazola Makama reported the incident highlighting need for thorough investigation to establish facts surrounding Tukur’s death. Authorities urge cooperation from the public for information relevant to the case.
