Arsenal’s defensive solidity and set-piece ability give them a significant edge over other English Premier League title contenders, according to former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer said Arsenal’s strength lies in their set-piece threat and defensive record, allowing them to win games even when they’re not playing well.
“They are in the driving seat because of their ability to just win a game even when they are not playing well,” Shearer said.
“The huge advantage Arsenal have over Liverpool, Man City, and whoever else thinks they can challenge is the defence and the set-pieces.”
Arsenal currently lead the Premier League table by four points, with six clean sheets and only three goals conceded this season.
