Abuja – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the explosion in a mosque at Gamboru Market, Maiduguri, describing it as “another sad reminder of rising insecurity” in Nigeria. “This is totally unacceptable; the irreducible minimum the government should offer is protection of lives and property,” said Comrade Ini Ememobong, PDP National Publicity Secretary, in a statement.

The party expressed condolences to families of victims, adding, “No one should lose their life while worshipping God. If attacks on places of worship continue unchecked, they’ll violate Nigerians’ right to freely worship and create fear threatening society’s fabric.”

PDP urged Federal and State Governments to take “immediate, practical steps” to protect citizens, criticizing “empty promises and political rhetoric”. “Nigerians deserve concrete, actionable security strategies on the ground. This escalating insecurity is unbearable and must be confronted with urgency,” Ememobong said.
