Vice President Kashim Shettima has told Minister Nyesom Wike that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is the APC leader in Rivers State. Shettima made the clarification at an APC solidarity event in Enugu State, emphasizing that sitting governors lead the party in their states.
“The sitting governor of a state is the leader of APC in that state,” Shettima said, citing examples: Governor Babagana Zulum (Borno), Governor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Governor Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Governor Peter Mbah (Enugu). “Same rule applies to Rivers State, where Governor Fubara leads APC,” he stressed.
Shettima, APC’s second-highest official, advised party stakeholders, including Wike, to note this “to avoid unnecessary political tension and internal complications.”
