Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has referred to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, as his “oga” (boss) while inspecting the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road project. Fubara expressed confidence that the project would be completed by October 2026, citing significant progress made so far.
“For me, this project is very important considering the person who conceived it, my oga, honourable minister. He had a very big vision. He believed that if I achieve this project at record time then the rest of the people will be happy with me,” Fubara said.
The governor’s statement comes after Wike confirmed an end to their rift, thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s intervention. Wike praised Tinubu’s leadership, saying, “The president is the father of the nation, and when a father speaks, his children must listen and do the needful to ensure peace and progress”.
Fubara assured that his administration would provide necessary funding and support to ensure the project’s timely completion, with Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, the contractor, reaffirming its commitment to meeting the deadline
