President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, as he marks his 60th birthday on May 2, 2026.

In a statement released on May 1, 2026, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said Mohammed is an excellent communicator, public relations executive, and media leader who has brought finesse, credibility, and gravitas to public communication in the current administration.

“I heartily congratulate Mohammed Idris Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, on his 60th birthday on May 2, 2026,” Tinubu said in the statement.

The president highlighted Mohammed’s background in the media and public relations sector, pointing to his role as founder and publisher of Blueprint Newspapers and chairman of a thriving public relations consultancy and broadcast media outfit. He added that Mohammed’s service as general secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria before joining the cabinet set him apart as a patriot and valued partner in nation-building.

Tinubu praised the minister’s commitment, intellect and tenacity in conveying the administration’s achievements, policies and programmes. “He has been steadfast in disseminating the message of Renewed Hope throughout the nation, and I encourage him to keep up the good work,” he said.

“As Mohammed celebrates this milestone birthday, I join his family and friends in wishing him more years of good health and strength as he continues to serve the nation,” the statement added.
