The Osun State First Lady, Chief Titilola Adeleke, has distributed business grants to women across the state as part of efforts to strengthen economic empowerment and support small-scale enterprises.
The grants were presented under the Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and were aimed at recapitalising existing businesses and improving family welfare.
On February 5, 2026, Mrs Adeleke distributed a ₦25 million business grant donated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu to 500 traders drawn from various parts of the state at the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
Speaking at the event, she commended Senator Tinubu for her continued support for women at the grassroots, particularly in boosting livelihoods. She urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds and cautioned against spending the grants on frivolous activities.
“Proper utilisation of the grants would enhance business profits, ease economic pressures, and enable the beneficiaries to contribute meaningfully to economic growth and societal development,” she said.
In another intervention in December 2025, the Osun First Lady also disbursed N50 million Business Recapitalisation Grants of the Renewed Hope Initiative to Persons With Disabilities in the state. She disclosed that N30 million was given to 150 beneficiaries while N20 million was channelled through the APC leadership for another 100 PWDs.
She explained that the initiative was designed to support small business owners to recapitalise their existing businesses and strengthen their means of livelihood.
“When society is built on inclusivity, we stand together, creating opportunities that empower everyone to contribute their unique gifts to our collective progress,” Mrs Adeleke said.
The wife of the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Adenike Adeleke, praised Nigeria’s First Lady for prioritising the welfare of women, children, girls, the elderly, and widows.
The Iyaloja-General of Osun State, Chief Mary Oyebode, also pledged on behalf of the beneficiaries that the grants would be used strictly for their intended purposes.
The empowerment drive aligns with the Renewed Hope Initiative’s partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation to empower grassroots women across the country.
