Bendel Insurance secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter played today, April 11, 2026, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The Benin Arsenal claimed all three points thanks to a solitary goal, ending a run of inconsistent results and boosting their position on the 2025-2026 NPFL table. The win marks an important result for head coach Monday Odigie’s side as they push to climb the standings in the second half of the campaign.

Abia Warriors, also known as the Umu Chineke, were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Insurance defence despite pressing for an equaliser. The result extends Bendel Insurance’s recent improvement at home after their 1-1 draw with Bayelsa United on September 27, 2025, where K. Oke Solomon had put them ahead before M. Jawad levelled for the visitors.

Today’s result gives Bendel Insurance bragging rights in the fixture after Abia Warriors had held the upper hand in recent head-to-head meetings. The victory also comes on the heels of a 2-3 defeat to Enyimba that had left Insurance with a 1-2-2 record from their previous five matches.

Neither side reported injury or suspension concerns ahead of the match. With the 1-0 win, Bendel Insurance will look to build momentum in their next NPFL fixture, while Abia Warriors return to Umuahia to regroup under coach M. Okara.
