KEBBI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SPEAKER, MUHAMMAD USMAN ZURU, PASSES AWAY IN EGYPT

The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, has died in an Egyptian hospital where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. He passed away on Monday night.

Zuru, who represented Zuru Constituency, was regarded as a key figure in the legislature and had been managing his health for some time. His death has triggered an outpouring of condolences from fellow lawmakers, political associates, and residents across Kebbi State, many of whom have described him as a dedicated public servant who contributed to legislative development in the state.

“The death of the Speaker, Rt Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, came to us as a rude shock. It is a painful loss not only to Kebbi State but to the entire nation,” said Idris Zuru, an aide to the governor on Communication and Strategy.

Burial arrangements are yet to be announced, pending consultation with the family.
